In these Terms and Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Kathryn Langley trading as the School House, Rèinigeadal, Isle of Harris and “you” and “your” refer to the customer.

All bookings are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Bookings and Deposits

1.1 It is entirely at our discretion whether or not we accept a booking request.

1.2 A deposit of £50 is required for each booking. We will email you on receipt of a booking request to confirm whether or not the School House is available on your requested dates and, if it is, to request payment of the deposit. A booking is not secured until we confirm receipt of the deposit. If we do not receive the deposit within 2 weeks of our email, the booking request may be cancelled and the dates released.

1.3 After a booking has been secured, you are obliged to make payment of the balance no later than 4 weeks before the start of the booking. If payment of the balance is not received by that date, we may, on notification to you, cancel the booking and retain the deposit (to cover our administration costs) without any further liability to you.

1.4 If a booking request is made less than 4 weeks before the start of the booking, we will, if the booking request is accepted, require payment of the full amount to be made immediately.

1.5 You acknowledge that even if you do not take up the booking, you remain liable to pay the full amount, subject to the terms on cancellation below.

2. Arrival and Departure

All bookings commence at 4:00pm on the day of arrival and terminate at 10:00am on the day of departure.

4. Non-Availability

If the School House becomes unavailable for a reason beyond our control (e.g. a fire or a burst pipe), we will help you to find alternative accommodation but we will not be liable to you for any loss or expense arising from or relating to that unavailability.

5. No liability for Injury, etc

We shall not be responsible for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience suffered by you or any person staying with you at the School House, or to personal belongings, except in the case of personal injury resulting from our negligence.

6. Cancellation

6.1 If you cancel your booking, we will make reasonable efforts to re-let the School House for the period of the booking. However, if you cancel your booking one week or less before it is due to start, you acknowledge that it there would not likely be sufficient time for us to re-let the School House.
